According to human‑rights reports, four protesters from the December 2025 nationwide demonstrations—Mohammadreza Majidi Asl, Bita Ali‑Hemati, Behrouz Zamani‑Nejad, and Kourosh Zamani‑Nejad—have been sentenced to death by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari.

The four individuals were tried in a joint case alongside a fifth defendant, Amir‑Mohammad Ali‑Hemati, who received a sentence of five years and eight months in prison.

In this case, Majidi Asl and Ali‑Hemati are a married couple, and Amir‑Mohammad Ali‑Hemati is the brother of Bita Ali‑Hemati.

According to the court ruling, the death sentences were issued based on Article 1 of the Law on Intensifying Punishment for Collaboration with the Zionist Regime and Hostile States, under the charge of “operational action on behalf of the hostile government of the United States and terrorist groups.”

The court also sentenced the four defendants to five years of imprisonment on charges of assembly and collusion, along with the confiscation of all their property
